Kinship Partners is a nonprofit youth mentoring organization serving families within the communities of Brainerd, Baxter, Crosby, Deerwood, Pequot Lakes, Nisswa, Pine River, and Backus of Minnesota by providing positive role models to youth in our communities.

Being a mentor is natural and everyone can do it! At Kinship Partner, we match children, between the ages of 5-14, with a caring volunteer adult partner (mentor) who has common interests.

These partnerships are encouraged to spend time together each week. Some of our partners enjoy busy activities such as hiking, fishing or skating. Others prefer cooking or watching movies. It’s the time spent together that’s important.

Thank you for visiting our web site.  We hope you found something that sparked your interest in becoming a mentor or supporting our program.

Match of the Month:

Kinship Partners is proud to honor our newest Match of the Month.  Billie Jo Jaeche and Savannah Larson have just celebrated their third year as partners.

When Billie Jo and her family became matched with Savannah, Billie Jo was excited about all of the opportunities they’d be able to offer Savannah.  She   has found over the past three years that Savannah has enriched their lives tremendously, also.  Rather than a child who comes to visit once a week, Savannah has become a part of the  family and she is a willing participant in whatever the family is doing.  Some of their favorite activities together include fishing, playing SKIP-BO and preparing and eating meals – especially fish!

Savannah agrees that she and the Jaeche’s have a lot of fun together.  In addition to the activities mentioned above, Savannah has also enjoyed tubing and playing with the puppy.   When asked what she especially enjoys about being matched with Billie Jo, she stated, “I feel like I’m part of the family.”

Billie Jo and Savannah’s partnership has evolved from a friendship into a relationship that feels “more like family.”   Congratulations to you both!
