Lake Country Lunch Buddies:
Each student that is matched with a Lunch Buddy has the chance to pause life and just simply have fun with an adult mentor twice a month. And we have FUN! We celebrated Valentine’s Day at both the Middle Level and Elementary schools with cookie decorating. We have some true artists among us. Between eating lunch, decorating cookies and playing games the time goes by way too fast. Smiles all around!
“What can I do with my older mentee” – volunteer in the community! Necole and Debby have found that giving back to the community by volunteering at Common Goods is fun and rewarding!
Tyler is learning to spin at the Farmer’s Market in Pine River!
Quote from a Mentee:
What things do you talk about with your Kinship Mentor?
“She’s my Best Friend! Do a lot of horseback riding! This summer we are showing horses in pine river fair I’m very excited (I’ve only ever shown cattle in Wabasha 4H!!!!) Autumn from Pequot Lakes
Anaya has been a straight A student all her school career including this last year of 8th grade. She is taking advanced classes and is in the choir and playing the clarinet in the band. I am extremely proud of her and enjoy telling as many people as I can about her success. I have enjoyed watching her grow and develop confidence; she is also a great friend and sister to her 3 brothers.
