taste of the lakes

Held in November each year, Taste of the Lakes is our premier annual fundraiser. Guests attend this food- and beverage-centric event to taste fantastic beer, wine, and spirits; sample culinary delicacies not found anywhere else in our area, often not even on participating chefs’ menus; live music; and a robust silent auction. A program about Kinship rounds out the night, as well as judge-awarded prizes for best starter, entrée and dessert, and the highly coveted People’s Choice trophy, awarded by attendee votes.  Funds raised benefit our entire service area.

For tickets and more information, please see our event site.

Congrats to our 2023 Winners!
Best Starter – Sunshine’s Summerhouse
Best Entree – Ernie’s on Gull
Best Dessert – The Woods
People’s Choice – Main Street Ale House

Taste of cuyuna lakes

Pins for partners

Our newest fundraiser engages you to get your friends, family, co-workers, etc. to support Kinship while you bowl! This peer-to-peer fundraiser encourages bowlers to spread the word about Kinship and generate even greater support for our organization and the kids we serve!

Our inaugural event in 2023 had multiple units of local law enforcement competing against one another, local businesses vying for top corporate donor, and community members raising funds to support our programs.  This event includes and benefits our entire service area.

Pins for Partners takes place in January to help celebrate National Mentoring Month!

Coats for Kids

Each October, in partnership with Crystal Cleaners and Hubbard Radio, we collect donations from hundreds of community members of winter coats, hats, gloves, snow pants, and boots and set up a storefront where families can “shop”, free of charge, for all the winter gear their kids need.

We begin accepting donations in September. If you are looking to make a donation before September or after the event, please reach out to other community-serving organizations like Common Goods, The Mustard Seed, or Salvation Army.
